He was born in Texas and lived there and in Idaho during his childhood. After graduating from Harvard University, Dobbs worked in government and banking before becoming a news reporter for several local media outlets. He worked with CNN since it was founded in 1980 and served as a reporter and vice president. He was the host and managing editor for CNN's Moneyline, which premiered in 1980 and was renamed Lou Dobbs Tonight in 2003. Dobbs resigned from CNN in 1999, rejoined in 2000, and resigned again in November 2009. He also hosts a syndicated radio show, Lou Dobbs Radio and has written several books since 2001.
Dobbs describes himself as an "independent populist" and is known for his opposition of free trade and support for immigration enforcement. For his reporting, he has won Emmy, Peabody, and Cable ACE awards. However, he has been accused of promoting xenophobic views on illegal immigration to the United States

1948 - Phil Hartman, Brantford Ontario, actor (SNL, Peewee's Playhouse)
Canadian-born American actor, comedian, screenwriter and graphic artist. Born in Brantford, Ontario, Hartman and his family immigrated to the United States when he was ten. After graduating from California State University, Northridge with a degree in graphic arts, he designed album covers for bands like Poco and America. Feeling the need for a more creative outlet, Hartman joined the comedy group The Groundlings in 1975 and there helped comedian Paul Reubens develop his character Pee-wee Herman. Hartman co-wrote the screenplay for the film Pee-wee's Big Adventure and made recurring appearances on Reubens' show Pee-wee's Playhouse.
Hartman became well-known in the late 1980s when he joined the sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live. He won fame for his impressions, particularly of President Bill Clinton, and stayed on the show for eight seasons. Called "the Glue" for his ability to hold the show together and help other cast members, Hartman won a Primetime Emmy Award for his SNL work in 1989. In 1995, after scrapping plans for his own variety show, he starred as Bill McNeal in the NBC sitcom NewsRadio. He also had frequent roles on The Simpsons, and appeared in the films Houseguest, Sgt. Bilko, Jingle All the Way, and Small Soldiers.
Hartman had twice divorced before he married Brynn (née Omdahl) in 1987; the couple had two children together. However, their marriage was fractured, due in part to Brynn's drug use. On May 28, 1998, Brynn shot and killed her husband while he slept in their Encino, Los Angeles home, then committed suicide several hours later. In the weeks following his death, Hartman was celebrated in a wave of tributes. Dan Snierson of Entertainment Weekly opined that Hartman was "the last person you'd expect to read about in lurid headlines in your morning paper."

1971 - Peter Salisbury, English drummer (The Verve)
The Verve reunited in June, 2007 for a new tour and a future album. Pete is believed to be have been the one behind getting the ball rolling in terms of reuniting the band. After Ashcroft learned that Salisury, was in contact with the former guitarist, Nick McCabe, over a possible side project, Ashcroft used this as an excuse to call McCabe. Ashcroft made peace with him and bassist Simon Jones and the band reformed. In a band interview with the NME in 2007, Salisbury mentioned that the problems between them weren't that bad in the first place.

Do you know your Dolly Parton videos?
Okay, since I am not a country fan, I hate wasting 5 points like this. Even more, though, I hate when my memory fails me on something I haven't seen in 10 years. lol
Don't ask how, but the subject of the video for Dolly's "Romeo" came up here at work. Dolly and 2 friends are at a bar and Romeo (aka Billy Ray Cyrus) came in and the girls went nuts.
The question is: Who was Dolly's other friend (I think someone famous in country music)? One was Emmy Lou Harris, but we can't remember the other woman.
Can you confirm Emmy Lou was in it and tell us the 3rd woman in this group?
PS: Just because I'm not a fan doesn't mean I have no knowledge whatsoever about country music! lol
Thanks!
I believe Tanya Tucker, Mary-Chapin Carpenter, and Kathy Mattea are in the video with Dolly. I don't think Emmylou Harris is in it.
In order I'd say sitting left to right on the bar stools,
Mary-Chapin
Dolly
Kathy
Tanya
